FAQ
How do I wash my extensions?
With individuals, there is no difference. Shampoo as you did before. With wefts and tapes lift the extensions to make sure you clean and rinse underneath. Simple.
Can I go swimming?
Swimming is not a problem for wefts and individuals applied with beads. With tape- in extensions and glued in individuals you may go swimming but the glue will be compromised and the hold will not be as long.
Whenever swimming with hair extensions, the best practice
to preserve the hair is to rinse your hair thoroughly, apply a heavy conditioner to your hair and braid before going in the water.
How Long before I need to tighten my extensions?
In my experience most clients like to go 8 weeks before tightening there extensions. The higher up on the head they are, the more often they will need to be tightened to keep from showing.
Can I re-use my extensions?
You can re-use the high-quality wefts, bead individuals and tape in extensions for up to a year. The average quality hair needs to be replaced every 4 months. The Keratin tip or hot fusion individuals needs to be replaced every visit.
What kind of conditioner should I use on my extensions?
Most people who get and keep extensions have fine hair and, therefore, are used to using very lightweight conditioners. Extensions require a heavier conditioner such as a hair masque or intense hair treatment. Use your lightweight conditioner on your hair (the top) and the heavy conditioner on the extensions.
Can I curl and blow dry my hair?
You may style your hair as if it was your own.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
Contrary to what a lot of people believe, hair extensions do not damage the hair on the condition it is done properly. Whether or not your hair gets damaged will depend on the experience of the stylist doing the extensions. Many a client's hair has been grown out using extensions applied and maintained properly.
